Anoka County has 2 compost sites available to its residents: Bunker Hills Compost Site in Coon Rapids and Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Site in Lino Lakes. You must show proof of residency to use these sites. Residents may drop off leaves and grass at no charge. Fees apply for tree waste. Anoka County has two compost sites that accept grass, leaves, non-woody yard waste, tree waste and organics.

You are required to: unload your own yard waste, take empty bags/containers with you, and; ensure any yard waste you bring to the site is free of garbage, recyclables or plastic. Tree waste may be loose or bundled. “Yard waste” includes garden wastes, leaves, lawn cuttings, weeds, shrub and tree waste, and prunings. Most garbage haulers offer separate yard waste collection services.
